  • Ram Help!!!

I currently have G.SKILL Trident + Turbulence 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17066) Desktop Memory Model F3-17066CL9D-4GBTDSG. I just bought G.SKILL PIS Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2200 (PC3 17600) Desktop Memory Model F3-17600CL7D-4GBPIS based on G-Skill tech support recomendation as I could not get my original ram anymore. I need to know how to make these both work together in my system. I have an Asus Maximus III Formula with an I5 750, a xfx 5850, and a rosewill extreme 850w power supply. Basically I need to know what settings to use such as voltage and timings. Do I use old ram or new ram settings? Also does the fact that one is pc3 17066 and one is pc3 17600 matter. I tried the XMP profile and it was not stable. System rebooted after about 8 hours of sitting with 3 everquest accounts running at a small load. The physical memory usage was about 55%. This may have been to the cpu as the XMP profile changed its settings also.
The XMP profile set it to:
    Target cpu freq 2769mhz
    Target dram freq 2135mhz
    BCLK freq 213
    cpu ratio 13.0
    cpu voltage 1.230
    dram voltage 1.654
    imc voltage 1.35
    memory timings 9-9-9-24-2n
these are the current settings still
I do not know much about overclocking so go easy on me please.

The original settings are fine, like you have above, but the main hurdle is finding the stable IMC Voltage. Because you added two more modules of high frequency memory, it will require MUCH more voltage to support it, so raise IMC Voltage until the system is fully stable.

    Thank you
