  • Correct bios settings for ASUS P6TD Deluxe and 12800CL8T-6GBPI

    Hello,

I got freeze with my configuration:

    Motherboard: ASUS P6TD Deluxe
    Processor: Intel i7 960
    RAM: G.Skill 12800CL8T-6GBPI
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5870

The bios settings are all in mode AUTO.The BIOS was flashed to the latest version. I ran Memtest 86+ without errors. Now I read in this forum that this is not optimal. Can you please help me with the correct bios settings in detail? I did not found it in the "DDR3 BIOS Configuration Guides" and I think this is the right way.

    Thanks,
    mincori

Best to go manual, base timings 8-8-8-21, CR at 2, voltage at 1.65, if no joy might try 8-8-8-24, else if you could post your BIOS settings we could look to see if there's a possible problem elsewhere

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Have you run memtest or test one module at a time? This will help determine whether one module is causing the problem.

        Thank you

Memtest run the hole night for all modules without errors. Should I start memtest for every module alone?
With the RAM voltage 1.64 I got 6GB RAM without this setting (auto) I get only 2GB.

Yes try each one individually, if all test good may want to adjust the CPU, CPU PLL and/or QPI RAM voltages, if you could let us know what those are setting to under AUTO

Keep DRAM Voltage 1.64V, there may be a problem with your DRAM Voltage and QPI/DRAM Core Voltage if it is having that problem.

              Thank you

                Hi,
thanks for your answer! I made another short test with memtest and no errors were reported. I think the problem are the CPU Voltage, RAM timings and so on. I looked into the "DDR3 BIOS Configuration Guides" but I don't find a matching configuration. And I am not so confirm to try it by myself.
                Thank for all your help,

Post pictures of your BIOS and we can see what is going on.

                  Make sure to manually input

                  DRAM Frequency - DDR3-1600
                  DRAM Timings - tCL 8 - tRCD 8 - tRP 8 - tRAS 24
                  DRAM Voltage 1.65V

                  Thank you

I tried tRAS 24 but 21 worked better. With tRAS 24 I get a freeze at the beginning from 3DMark06.

I don't see anything wrong, so send them in for RMA and try a new kit if problem persists.
