F3-16000CL9D-4GBFLS and Crosshair IV and 1090T Best OC settings?
they actually HAVE to be in the black slots cause my cpu cooler is too big for them to fit in reds

im not sure what vcore stands for but im guessing its the cpu voltage? i set mine to 1.45 and my cpu bus freq is set at 300 using the 1333 multiplier so that the dram freq is 2000. my cpu ratio is set at 12.5 so my cpu runs at 3750. when i called gskill tech support, tim told me i needed to raise the cpu/nb voltage a bit too... so currently i have it set to 1.225000. this morning i tried taking my cpu ratio down to 10.5 so my cpu ran at 3150. prime95 still fails on the first test, almost immediately on 4-5 cores. im not sure what the next step is.

yes, i downloaded the new memtest86 and booted from the cd. started it on single cpu, it ran to 82% and started getting errors. #2 just kept counting up and i let it get to like 2 billion or so before i just restarted. the errors column would count to 37657 and start back again from 1... over and over... not sure what that means tho. could one of my sticks be bad? i just got them 2 days ago so i can still rma them.

just tried the settings u HAD posted (guessing u deleted it?) and still not working... prime failed on 4 cores after 0 minutes, 5th core failed on 4th test after 4 mins, last core still going after test 7. not sure if it matters, but they failed in this order, 6, 5, 3, 2, 1 and 4 is still going.

Use BIOS defaults and memtest the modules. Right now we need to determine whether a module is bad or settings.
Try this:
CPU Level UP Auto
AI OC Tuner Manual
CPU Ratio 13.0
AMD Turbo Disabled
CPU Bus Freq. 250
PCIE Freq 100
DRAM Freq 2000 MHz
CPU/NB Freq 3000
HT Link Speed Auto
DRAM Timing Config:
9 - 9 - 9 - 24 - (rest on auto 6 - 40 - 12 - 5)
(auto 7 - 3 - 6 - 4 - 6 - 110 - 738ms) - 2T
DRAM Driving Config: All on Auto
************************************************** ********
PWM Phase Control Full Phase
CPU Voltage OCP Enabled
CPU PWM Freq Auto
CPU LLC Auto
CPU/NB LLC Auto
CPU/NB Voltage OCP Enabled
************************************************** *********
Extreme OV Disabled
CPU + NB Voltage Mode Manual
CPU Voltage AUTO
CPU/NB Voltage 1.200V-1.300V
DRAM Voltage 1.65000
Everything else AUTO.
Im using bios 1304. I tried running memtest 1 stick at a time and they both passed. Testing with both sticks in gives me errors though. I will try running it again with the settings you have posted. did you mean to put the timings at 9-9-9-24-2t? I thought these were rated at 1t?
I just wanted to add that memtest under clocks the RAM a lot. 543mhz ddr1087 with cas at 2.5-1-0-5

Reason: added underclock

Well with the most recent settings you had me try, both sticks passed. is it because of the 2t/1t setting? Or possibly the cpu/nb voltage? Which, btw, I set at 1.25. could you explain a bit about what the timings mean please.

No, all modules are rated for 2T, but most are capable of 1T, it depends whether other hardware can support it as well.
Try it at 1T now to see if that works.
The Command Rate or Command Timing is the amount of clock cycles to detect a bank and timings. If you use only 2 modules, typically 1T is OK, but most of the time more modules will be 2T since it needs more "time" to access the correct timings. For this reason, when 1T is unstable, 2T should not have a problem.
Well those settings let me pass memtest but as soon as windows booted my PC would freeze. I put the cpu/nb freq back to auto and it boots now. also, running prime only 1 core failed test 1... The rest are already on test 3! That's better than before. any suggestions on how to improve this?

Try some previous settings to see if they are stable now with the new BIOS. I need to run some test myself to see what is working for this new BIOS. I'm trying to get to it asap, but may not be until tommorrow.
Ok, thank you very much for your help today. so far prime has only failed on 2 cores and the other 4 are still running. passes self test 8k. is it normal for 1 or 2 of them to fail?
