I just find it odd that your CPU voltage is that low, everything I've read said you wouldn't be able to get the CPU to run at 4ghz if you don't have it at least at 1.4V.

    Currently I'm running at this

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1570437

which has passed hyperPI 32M without going over 52C, it's probably as good as I'm going to get with this setup.

OK I'm looking at RC Tweakit right now so I know the #'s are current. Oh and Manual on Ram [auto] by default had my ram set at 2.675v and that seemed to cause me stability issues, and manual on NB

    CPU Voltage: 1.325 [auto]
    CPU/NB Voltage:1.125 [auto]
    CPU VDDA Voltage:2.5 [auto]
    DRAM Voltage:1.56250 [man]
    HT Voltage:1.2 [auto]
    NB Voltage:1.1875 [man]
    SB:1.113 [auto]
    NB 1.8V:1.802 [auto]

    Hope this helps

Looking at Gskill's product page, I see you have a different RAM kit with a lower voltage requirement. Interestingly enough my RAM isn't guaranteed to work with my MB. This probably explains all the trouble I've been having. It's time to call it quits I think in this OC attempt...

I probably should have been more careful in the selection process.

At least I was able to achieve higher speeds than I previously had with lower voltages than my old kit

I've made similar mistakes in the past that's why when I got ready to build this one ( my first AMD PC in the past 9 years ) I went online to see what everyone was using and what combination worked and I have to say I'm kinda on the fence with this one. It doesn't bench well (3dmark and such) compared to my old rig. But I can say in the "real world" it is a azzkickin' powerhouse! For the $$ I spent I'm not disappointed. I'm not quite finished with it I will be getting a SSD soon.

I used to build a fair number of AMD boxes but have pretty much stayed away the last couple of years, they can still load a lot of bang for the buck but I wish they would put some of the money they have into R&D on the MCs, across the board on their CPUs there are so many weird limitations (some can't use 1066 or up, some only 1 stick per channel, some versions of the same CPU will run 1600 others not at all, etc), and then the mobo makers for their CPUs are sort of expected to write BIOSs that will conform to these various possibilities.

I've built AMD's before (late 90's) and was happy with them and still have the last one in use at my Mom's
At one time AMD's prices started going up so the bang for the buck was not as good I starting building Intel PC's again. So far I'm happy with this one it can handle anything I throw at it and don't seem to phase it.

It turns out it's not your fault as my RAM seems to be failing on stock settings now. I should have done a 24 hour memtest as soon as I got it. PRIME 95 failed within 20 minutes on stock, going to run memtest for 24 hours on stock, would be willing to bet I get errors and starting the RMA process.

                    Good thing I don't bet...

Well, 24 hours of memtest was spotless however PRIME 95 still gets errcode=1002 "too large FFT's" after a relatively short time then keeps going. Happens to 1-3 cores then keeps chugging along... I'm really at a loss here

After a good solid week, it would seem these settings are stable.

                          spoke too soon

Well it all seemed stable for a while... till I started playing WoW. Got lots of blue screens so i throttled the CPU back down to 3.75Ghz. Also turned AMD Overdrive on for my GPU and put the fan on manual at 100% (it sure is loud lol) That helped but I have now noticed that my RAM is NOT clocked at 2000Mhz?!? Only getting 1000Mhz out of it for some reason... wondering if it has anything to do with putting them in slots 3 & 4? I have a Hyper 212 Plus CPU cooler and its too big to put the RAM in 1 & 2. Considered putting the stock cooler on but didn't want to waste the thermal paste till i asked here.
                          ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought I bought the best on the market (for AMD anyway) but I'm soooo NOOB to OCing. There's so many other settings in the BIOS that no one has mentioned here so I have left them all on auto... some I had to disable/enable/manual to change the settings but I really have no clue what I'm doing. (plz don't yell at me, I just wanted an awesome gaming rig) I have read lots of forums about this and lots of ppl say they have this same RAM running stable at 2000Mhz on a Crosshair IV Formula but even tho I set it to 2000Mhz in the BIOS, CPU-Z still says I'm running at 1003.4Mhz. Any ideas why? And what I might try fiddling with to get it working? I have all the latest drivers/firmware installed.

                          -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's all the settings on the OC part of the MB and what they're set at:

Well I have some very good news for you....

Memory 101: 2x DRAM frequency = effective memory frequency.
                            In other words, your memory@ 1003.4MHz x2 = 2006.8MHz actual memory frequency.
Same principle applies when calculating Vram or memory on a graphic card.

Corsair H50 Hydro (push/pull intake fans)

                              good news vs bad news

well that is good news!!! however, i have tried all day to get prime95 to do a stable run... it fails on test 1 everytime. 5 of 6 cores almost immediately and the last one takes a bit longer but eventually still fails... keep getting the rounding error 0.5 instead of 0.4 or something like that. this setup is stable for running wow though. i called the gskill tech support today and they told me to crank my cpu bus up to 300 and lower my dram freq to the 1333 slot (2000). i have done that and still no luck with the stress tests. as i stated in my last post, this is a new build am i am new to this overclocking thing. im not sure how to tell what is causing the problems. i have run multiple gpu tests to see if that was causing it but i have gotten no blue screens when doing so. right now this is my config...

                              my ram timings are 9-9-9-24-1T
i have read lots of forums about OCing but not much of it for noobs. i like to consider myself an IT guy but thats mostly software related, not much help on the hardware side.
so before i write a novel here, id just like to ask for some help getting a stable stress test. i see many of you with basically the same setup so i know its something im doing wrong. thanks in advance!

Have you tried running your two modules in the black (outside) slots instead of the red slots?
