  • Ripjaws 4GB 1600MHz + Intel DH55TC

    Motherboard: Intel DH55TC
    Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
    Processor: Intel i3-540

I can't get my motherboard to run these chips at 1600MHz, there is no option in the BIOS to change only the memory speed. The only way I can get the memory to run at this speed is to change the processor frequency to 3.64GHz, but then the motherboard won't POST.

    Any help?

Believe the spec on this mobo shows 1333 or 1066 DRAM, and the DRAM setting are all auto sensing

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

So I won't be running it at 1600MHz then? That's a bummer. I [I]can[I] change the timings, can you suggest some? CAS7 maybe?

At 1333 should be able to run 8-8-8-24. If you can change CR (Command Rate) try it at 1T or 1N, (however Intel is showing it these days) if no go put it back to 2. Then could try 7-7-7-22, if these setting work could try to tighten CR with the CL& also down to 1

i3 and i5 have a max memory multiplier of 10x.

          BCLK 133 x 10 is DDR3-1333.

For DDR3-1600, you need to raise BCLK to 160.

This also overclocks your CPU, but it should not have a problem. Or you can lower the CPU Frequency by lowering the ratio.

          Thank you
