M4A79T Deluxe with [Ripjaws]

Hey,

first of all an big "hello" to the forum

Last christmas i configured a new pc and as mainboardtype i got a M4A79T Deluxe from ASUS. If i take a look into the QVL from ASUS homepage, the maximum RAM is 6GB.
Now i browsed your internetsite and configured the RAM with your ram configurator via Motherboard -> Manufacturer -> Model.

I was wondering cause the results also had the [RIPJAWS] F3-8500CL7Q-16GBRL (4Gx4) on top of the list. Well it would be great if they will work on my board but i wanted to ask someone professional if i can use these 16GB RAM on my ASUS Board.

QVL says NO
G.SKILL says OH YES

Maybe you need some informations about my system:

Phenom II X4 965
M4A79T Deluxe
HD4870 X2 (2 times with crossfire)
Be quiet dark power 1200W

Atm 4 GB Ram from the QVL working

Believe it should work, but make take a bit of time playing with the settings for 16GB. May have to adjust voltages up (CPU, MC, HT etc), OC the CPU. Problem is w/ AMD CPUs that have a notoriously weak Memory Controller (MC)

First of all Thank you for replying so fast. I had no internet access last days so i cant reply at all.

Well if i read your answer im thinking of got not the ripjaws with 16GB. Is it really that hard to get the RAM to work? Im not sure if im able to set up the voltages for the components by myself Btw i even dont know whats meant with MC and HT?!

Where can i adjust the voltages? In the BIOS Section? And whats the reason to overclock the cpu? Maybe someone has the time to give me more informations about what i want to do

This motherboard should support 16GB, not sure why it says 6GB wherever you're looking at.

The memory you selected will work just fine. It is DDR3-1066, so no tweaking should be necessary.

Well the board supports 16GB thats what ASUS told me. But if i take a look into the qualified vendor list there are only supported memory with a maximum of 6GB. Now im afraid that the ripjaws will not work :-) thats all.

Last Question:

Can i also use this one (without any tweaking): F3-10666CL9Q-16GBRL (4Gx4)
or is it a must to use this: F3-8500CL7Q-16GBRL (4Gx4)
