  • Not stable at 1600 Mhz

    Hello everyone.

    Model of the motherboard:GA-MA790GPT-UD3H
    Model of the memory:Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ
    Model of the CPU:AMD:PII 955 be c2

Bought these components about three month ago. Put everything together and started running at 1600 Mhz, 9-9-9-24 2T

Computer was never totally stable. Strange thing was 3D application always worked fine, Computer locked up during browsing using flash etc. Usually after<24 hour uptime.

Ran a memory test and showed no errors, ever.

Started running at 1333Mhz,9-9-9-24 1T and computer runs problem free.

I would like to run at 1600 Mhz again. I tried to increase mem voltage to 1.65V, that didn't help.

What do you guys suggest I do different?

If I am stuck at 1333Mhz, you think I can use faster timings?

    Thanks for your help.

For DDR3-1333, you can set timings to 8-8-8-24.

For DDR3-1600, you need to set NB Frequency to x11 2200MHz, CPU-NB Voltage +0.1V, and that should stabilize the system. Your CPU (memory controller) is struggling for DDR3-1600.

    Thank you

SO i made the changes you suggested, 1T is fine for the settings you suggested

Thank you, I will let you know how it turns out. I only play games on this computer

      Do you think 1600 9-9-9-24,2T or 1T is better then 1333 8-8-8-24,1T.

      Thank you

DDR3-1600 should be slightly faster since you also have the NB Frequency overclocked. Download Everest Ultimate and that will give you a precise answer through benchmark testing.
