  • GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H with F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

    Will this RAM: http://gskill.com/products.php?index=222

    Work with this Mobo?

What are the specified timings that I have to set in BIOS? Thanks!

Should be fine........if this is for a new build, will prob want to run at 1333 initially as 1600 will be an OC speed and you won't want to OC the CPU much till the thermal compound has had time to cure on the CPU/Heatsink combo - maybe 5-7 days

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

The specific timings and settings are always on the memory and memory packaging.

Hi, I'm confused. I thought 1600Mhz for that RAM was the normal speed, not OC?

Yes, it is the rated frequency, but the frequency is above the standard, so manual settings are needed. The JEDEC standard, or motherboard maximum default on "AUTO" settings is DDR3-1333 CL9. Any memory package better than this spec must be manually configured in BIOS. So essentially you are setting the BIOS for the memory to run properly.

Overclocking is when you attempt to run the memory faster than DDR3-1600. For example, some overclockers will use this memory at DDR3-1800 without a problem. Instead of purchasing DDR3-2000 memory to downclock to DDR3-1800, they simply use the DDR3-1600 to operate at DDR3-1800.

          Thank you
