  • ASUS P6X58D Premium only 4gb than 6gb RAM

    Hello,

    here are my Specs.

    Processor: Intel Core i7-920
    Mainboard: ASUS P6X58D Premium
    RAM: F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ

My Problem is the 6gb will only found when RAM is set to 1066MHz. When i set it to 1333MHz only 4gb.

I don?t know how to set the RAM Timing correct. On the G.Skill website is noted to set the timings for this RAM to 9-9-9-24-2N, but which settings are the correct in this BIOS?

Is somebody there who knows the correct settings?

    THX

Do you have the latest BIOS for the mobo? Can you post the BIOS settings?

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

I have the same board and had no issues with it recognizing 6gb with F3-12800CL8T-6GBRM...however after enabling XMP BIOS says its at 1600 but when i run CPUZ its saying only 1333....anyone else having this problem? or know how to solve it?

          Thank you

            Hi,

            i thought i resolved the Problem but i didn?t.

The same Problem now. I saw a Beta BIOS Update for my P6X58D Premium on ASUS Support Site. It is a RAM compatibility Update. Is it possible that this will resolve my issue. I?m afraid to install it, because it is a beta BIOS.

The Problem is the same as first posted.

G.Skill what i have to do? I test it with X.M.P. activated, but when i start it show only 1066 with 6gb RAM. When i change it manually to 1333 i have only 4gb. When i do a cold boot it is the same symtomps as posted in the cold boot issue thread.

Do i have to do a RMA. I have the change to RMA it where i bought the RAM.

            Thanks for help.

              It don?t work, i'am perplexed...

              Hi,

ist tested now 3 days, and i don?t get it to work stable. G.Skill. which RAM do i have to choose? Or when it don?t work till next monday i have to send it back to the vendor. And i have to buy from Kingston or something else.

Which BIOS settings will g.skill suggest!!!!!!

In CPU-Z it shows every time 6GB RAM, but on startup and under Windows 7 only 4gb or 2gb of RAM.

              Thanks for help.

Please send them in for new replacements and the new set should work fine.

I'm starting to wonder if its the Core i7 that's having trouble with the GBNQ RAM. It seems to be the common thread in the problems. I was excited for a moment when you said you solved the problem, as I was going to try the same thing... then I kept reading lol
