  • Unable to obtain proper Timings & speed??

Hey just looking for some advice I have been tying millions of combos but can't get my RAM to grab it's timings correctly & on auto it defaults to 11 11 11 40 instead of 7 8 7 24.
I have kept the cpu down round 3.7 - 3.8 due to *temp* lack of Water Cooling.

CPU Freq is at stock 200
Ratio is bumped up to 19 (3.8ghz)
(no probs unless heavy gaming for hrs then I bring it down to 18.5 (3.7) and no probs (heating up)
NB is at stock 2000 & stock Volts ( although I've tried many)
    HT " "
MeM clock is cureently on Manual @ 8.0 for 1600 auto timngs give me the 11 11 11 40 so I have brought them to 8 8 8 40 but it hangs pre post at the rated 7 8 7 24.

so heres the rig in total for info sake..

CPU - Phenom II x4 965 Blk Ed 3.4ghz C3 Rev (Zalman Air cooler) (water next Friday)
    MB - Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4p
    RAM - 2X Gskill F3-12800CL7-2GBECO
    Graphics - 2x Gigabytge ATI 5850 1GB in X-Fire
    PSU - Cooler Master 950W
Bios - Award F8c (Newest Avail)

Any ideas would be greatly helpful.

Load your base timings manually along with the DRAM voltage, and check Command Rate/Timing...it's probably defaulting to 1N and needs to be 2N

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

no go, the default was always 2t (I don't have any 2N's all T's) and I can't get it to post at 7 8 7 at any Volts but at 1600 8 8 8 33 no probs again but when running this I can't move my NB or HT over 2000mhz without failing before post again tried volts in increments up to
      DRMAM 1.650
      NB 1.4
      SB 1.4
      CPU 1.500
(left NB vid on Norm as no one ever mentions to increase)

You can not operate CL7 as it is a BIOS limitation.

          Good By AMD

          I had this exact problem.

          See: http://gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=2001&highlight=F3-12800CL7

It worked for a while with a beta BIOS Gigabyte put out. After a few months it became unstable again.

I sold the rig and got an iCore7 with a gigabyte P55 MB. Just put it in and set the XMP profile and it sang with no problems whatsoever.

I even over clocked it to a DDR3 2000 at 9-9-9-27-2N timings and it still sings.

I recommend dumping AMD. I was a long time advocate but with this issue I was tired of messing with it. I started with the old Athlon x2 then to a phenom x3, then to a Phenom II x3 then to the 955. Since you can get the iCore 860 for $199 at microcenter and can over clock it to 3.6Ghz easily.

          HAD:
          AMD Phenom II 955BE
          Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-UD5P
          F3-12800CL7-2GBRH x2
