ok firstly i will point out i have ran memtest86 on the sticks of memory both singular and together and pass all tests without errors, on 2 different systems.

firstly my system saw my memory as 1333mhz (133x10) and my cpu temps were 31c idle and 50c max load after 2hrs gaming, i decided to activate xmp profile to allow my memory to run at there full speeds of 1600mhz (160x10) using 7.8.7.24/2n timings and 1.6v (maxing sure turbo was turned off in bios and not set to auto) as i know activating xmp disables turbo mode. but my temps for my cpu went from 31c idle to 70ish idle and hit the thermal shutdown when under max load running my memory at there rated speeds !!!

    default settings for my cpu (intel i5 750 are 2.66ghz @ 133x20) temps 31c to 50c
oc settings using xmp are 2.72ghz @ (160x17) temps 70ish to thermal shutdown....

how can running my memory at there correct speeds throw my cpu into such a heat issue ? before i upgraded my memory i used corsair 1333mhz ddr3 without problems as xmp profile wasn't in use.. any help would be nice thankyou.

i forgot to mention with my system up and running i get a single beep every now and again could be 5mins after system is running, couple hours and so so i will just get one single beep

May want to increase the CPU/MC voltage just a bit, at currant voltage it may be straining to run the sticks at stock speed causing temps to rise, also input the base timings, command rate and dram voltage manually to keep fluctuations to a minimum

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

have managed to get my temps back to normal after applying new thermal paste of the retail HSF and reseating it. temps are now (30c idle to 50ish max). just my voltages are off and require help with them.

You will need to find the proper voltage necessary for QPI/VTT Voltage ............ 1.100V [Auto]

Roughly, it should be around 1.250V, but I would suggest testing for the lowest stable amount.

          Thank you

Changes i have made so far:

C3/C6/C7 State Support ................... [Disabled] was actually [Auto]
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) ................... [Disabled] was actually [Auto]
CPU Thermal Monitor ......................... [Disabled] was actually [Auto]

with theses set to [Disabled] temps for cpu rises on avg 20c !. With them [Enabled] temps remain 30c to 50ish but the system seemed unstable.
            i have upped voltages on:
            QPI/VTT to 1.210v is this safe ?
CPU PLL to 1.900v is this safe ?
CPU Vcore to 1.275v is this safe ?
Dram Voltage to 1.650v is this safe ?
i have disabled xmp and manually set it, blck to 160, multi to 10 = 1600MHz memory. cpu has oc to 2.72GHz (as expected)
i have also disabled [load calibration] too and things seem far far better. and that damn beep that happens whenever it wants is gone. i now have a slight freezing of my mouse. so its not completely there yet. i have ran memtest86 on theses settings and passed 15 passes before i exited it.
i will try upping the QPI/VTT voltages to 1.250v and see if that resolves my last issue before i prime95 it. any further suggestions ?

              All yes.

Please let me know the results.

if i enable or set to auto:

                C3/C6/C7 State Support
                CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)
                CPU Thermal Monitor

the system becomes unstable, starts freezing up with mouse lags, hdd access lags and that damn beep comes back. with them disabled my temps jump on average 20c.

                i have left:

                QPI/VTT at 1.210
                CPU PLL at 1.900v
                CPU Vcore at 1.275v
                Dram Voltage at 1.650v

i dont know if adding more volts to any of theses will allow me to enable:

                C3/C6/C7 State Support
                CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)
                CPU Thermal Monitor

any advice ? are they required ?

All the voltages are required, but you should still be able to enable those options. What type of problems are you currently having still?

as i said in a earlier post if i enable:
                    C3/C6/C7 State Support
                    CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)
                    CPU Thermal Monitor

the system becomes unstable, starts freezing up with mouse lags, hdd access lags and that damn beep comes back. with them disabled the system fine and everything runs great without any issue. just the temps shoot through the roof lol. i guess a 3rd party heatsink and fan is required.
