  • New ram/mobo/cpu. Questions about ram.

Hey everyone. I am new here.

I replaced the mobo/ram/cpu in my Dell XPS 630i.

    I got:

    965 BE 3.4

    4 gb G.Skill 1600 F3-12800 CL9D

    MSI NF750-G55 mainboard.

I downloaded CPUZ to check speeds and what not and notice my ram is running at 667 instead of 1600.

Does anyone know why this would be?

Ahhh I guess some motherboards default this memory to 1333 and the 667 is added together becasue of dual channel or something.

If anyone has anything concrete to add please correct me.

You guessed correctly, further, input your speed, base timings, DRAM voltage and Command rate (2N) manually....tRFC should be about 127 (ns) or 66 (clicks)

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

You need to get into the motherboard BIOS and enter in all the memory settings manually. The main one being the frequency since it is currently at DDR3-1333. Once you set that up properly, everything will be plenty fast and smooth. Refer to your motherboard user's manual for further details.

          Thank you
