  • DDR3 Upgrade

I currently have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P with Intel E8600 running DDR2 (PC2 8500)8gb total.Runs GREAT-never had any issues-even when OC'd 4.27GHz(450x9.5)(2.40B)5-5-5-15/3-3-5-59-3-2.I want to up grade to DDR3 using Gigabyte GA-EP45T-USB3P Mobo with Intel Q9650 CPU.The problem is Gigabyte does not specify any G.Skill RAM for this Mobo.I've had such success with with my DDR2 RAM-I refuse to use any RAM except G.Skill.Could someone suggest a RAM (2000/1600)(4x2gb) that may work with this setup???

For 2000 in a 4x2 set of sticks, might look at F3-16000CL9Q-8GBTD:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231332

    or in 1600 think I'd go w/ 2 sets of F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH (CL7)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231279

Both would be a good match for the 9650 @ 3.6GHz (1600 FSB) or higher, would prob want to downclock the RAM initially after the build, until your thermal compound on the CPU/Heatsink has time to cure at stock 3.0 speed/1333 FSB, then after it's cured (5-7 days reg usage), can OC up to 1600 FSB or better and raise RAM to rated speeds (might have to add a bit of voltage to the NB/MC.... .1 or so)

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Or just cut to the chase..

        F3-12800CL7Q-8GBECO

        http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-330-_-Product

THAT is what you should really go with. They are cheap now since they are new (promotion), but that will change soon.

        Thank you

              DDR3 Upgrade

              Motherboard:Gigabyte EP45T-USB3P rev. 1.0 BIOS F1 (12/31/09)
              CPU:Intel Core2Quad Q9650
              Memory:G.Skill F3-12800CL7Q-8GBECO

I have this RAM running 400FSB 3.60GHz (400x9) 3.33D Strap 1333 - It's 24/7 stable.I've been trying to run 450FSB - I have had it running 1600 but it wasn't stable and the voltages were on the high side so I gave up on running 4.00D,B,C,andA Straps.I'm currently trying to run 450FSB 3.60GHz 3.33D Strap 1500 - I have issues getting it 24/7 stable. What I would like to know - DRAM voltage is set at 1.35 in BIOS (ET6 show it to be 1.32).The next click up in BIOS is 1.45 - Would it damage RAM if I tried 1.45???Man,I've got 60+ hrs. trying to get RAM to run 450FSB 24/7 Stable.Do you have any suggestions???

Will not be a problem. It may even work better with a higher frequency.

                Thank you
