System
CPU - i5-750
M/Board- Gigabyte P55M-UD4
Memory- 4gb Rip jaw 2000mhz CL-9
Video- Gigabyte Ati HD 4350
P/Supply- Hunt key/ Ever green 550w (also was using a Silverstone Strider 500w)
O/S Windows 7 ultimate
I cannot get this to run stably at all, every time I cold boot I get bsod's
this is the second M/board I have used (returned the first one as faulty) even the techs at my local computer shop are unable to sort this issue and they thought that it was in fact a faulty board causing the problem as well!
The only thing that it can be is the memory because all the other parts have been changed out.
Unless I have now recieved 2 faulty motherboards in a row (not acceptable at $230 AU)
neither board would run stable with fail safe defaults, and with XMP (profile 1) enabled (only profile option given), this sets the memory to 2000 mhz @1.65 volts and this is OK till you cold boot & it blue screens giviing memory related error codes, I haven't touched any other settings except enable XMP yet I have run Memtest and both times it ran at 2000 mhz for 6 hours with no errors?
& default settings just wont run at all (on the first board it would actually cause the power supply to hiss "Hiss" unless XMP was enabled)
I am starting to think that these modules are just incompatible with the board or possibly incompatible with chipset? because I have read this same problem with other brands (Asus etc) on these forums, i hope this is not the case because they were $165 for the modules but i cant return them because they (according to memtest) arent faulty. Gskill and Gigabyte both state compatibility on their website!
Any Ideas??
In fact I used Gigabytes compatibility guide as a reference before purchasing the memory
