  • G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D RL + ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Bios settings

    Hello,
    I am using following system:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
    MB: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
    Ram: G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D RL Series 4GB (2x 2GB)
    Windows 7 64bit

Can you tell me the right bios settings for the RAM? If I leave everything on "AUTO" the RAM speed is only 685 MHz. I set the speed to 800 MHz in the bios already and changed some timing settings to 9, but there are so many options to set in the bios and if I test the system speed with build in Windows preformance test there is no diffrence in speed. My current settings aue like this, please give me the best settings.

    Memory Clock Mode .. (Manual)
    Memory Clock Value .. (800)
    DRAM Timing Mode ... (DCT 0 )
    TCL ......................... (9 CLK)
    TRCD ....................... (9 CLK)
    TRP .......................... (9 CLK)
    tRTP ......................... (AUTO)
    TRAS ....................... (24 CLK)
    TRC .......................... (AUTO)
    tWR .......................... (AUTO)
    TRRD ........................ (AUTO)
    tRWTTO ..................... (AUTO)
    tWRRD ....................... (AUTO)
    tWTR ......................... (AUTO)
    tWRWR ....................... (AUTO)
    tRDRD ........................ (AUTO)
    tRFC0 ......................... (AUTO)
    tRFC1 ......................... (AUTO)
    tRFC2 ......................... (AUTO)
    tRFC3 ......................... (AUTO)

That's all you need to change. If memclock value is 800, it should be DDR3-1600. Where do you see 685? Simply change the frequency, timings, and voltage and your computer should be working properly.

    Thank you

The 685 was actualy 669MHz (or so) shown in CPU-Z when set to AUTO. But what I don't understand is that the Windows 7 preformans test shows the same RAM speed resolds at 5,9 no matter how if I set the settings on AUTO or to 800 MHz 9-9-9-24. Is the speed difference between the settings so little, that there don't have an effect on the test?

you have to increase NB and HT voltage to 1.4-1.5v to be able to run DDR3 1600
        thanks

these boards only allow you to increase those to 1.385 max

            really?
we don't have this board in hand but the option is up to 1.5v on ASUS M4A79T-E/Deluxe

and does it work after increasing to 1.385v?

M4A785TD-V EVO and M4A785TD-M EVO have a max HT voltage of 1.385v.

However the NB can go higher, i am unsure if it works higher on the -V board but the -M board will work if the cpu if not over clocked to high depending on the issue. I dont have the same issue with OCZ memory, only my g skill.

Personally, i think its the board and catching up with available memory.

Do you have the latest BIOS?
