  • Sodimm F3-1600C9D-8GRSL - Timings with 1.5V

    Hello,

I intend to purchase subject RAM kit, F3-1600C9D-8GRSL to install in a laptop that supports 1.5V only, with i7-2760QM processor (supports DDR3-1600)

However i have read in the overview of the product the following :

" DDR3 1.5V Support Does your system only support DDR3 1.5V SO-DIMM? No problem! Ripjaws SO-DIMM is also compatible with systems that support DDR3 1.5V!"

Will the timings be altered at any way if installed in 1.5V only system, or will they remain at 9-9-9-28 as spec'd in SPD?

Thank you in advance for your help.

As per the official JEDEC DDR3 standard all DDR3L modules (1.35V) are designed to also work at the regular DDR3 voltage of 1.5V. The timings are not affected from that, as long as we are speaking of a standard profile and not an Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP).

This is how it looks in Thaiphoon Burner:

Thank you for your reply, very informative.

I was under the impression that a 1.35V module would fallback into a more "relaxed" state to work in a different than intended scenario.
But what you said is clear and as i understand they will be 9-9-9-28, as per the screenshot.
