  • [Good O/Clockers I need Help!] QX9650 + P5E3 PRO @ 1600 FSB.

I really need some help here. Hopefully there will be somebody to help me out.

I've got a brand new system that I have been trying to stabilize for MONTHS.

    It's a QX9650 on a P5E3 PRO (@ Updated BIOS 0505) and 2 x 4Gb F3-12800CL7-4GBXM (On the black slots).

I've done OC in the past, with E8400 as well as Q9650 and a E6300. Always managed to get Prime Blend 24H stable, but I can't manage with this one.

    Here is my BIOS :
    CPU Ratio 9
    FSB Strap 400
    PCIE Frequency 100
    DRAM Frequency DDR3 1600
    Command Rate 2N
    CLK Skew Chan A Auto
    CLK Skew Chan B Auto

    DRAM TIMING : MANUAL : 7 8 8 24 (Rest on AUTO) (Tried 7 9 9 25 too)
    Ai clock twister Auto
    Ai Transaction Booster Auto

    CPU Vcore : 1.33125
    CPU PLL : 1.58
    FSB Term : 1.48
    DRAM Voltage : 1.60
    NB Voltage : 1.33
    SB Voltage : Auto
    Clock Over Charging : AUto

    Load Line Calibration : Enabled
    CPU GTL : Auto
    NB GTL : Auto
    Cpu Spread : Disabled
    PCIE Spread : Disabled.

I always get 3B bluescreen and get errors on prime 95 before 1 hours of testing.
I also tried to push the voltage as much as I could (1.4V max for Vcore; 1.7 for DRAM, 1.7 for PLL, 1.5 for FSB Term, 1.5 for NB... without any improvements.)

I'm really desesperate to find out what I'm missing, hopefully you guys could provide some help.

Thanks a lot, I will provide feed back about every single post and testing that I will be ask to perform.

    Cheers

Test each to see if it can be stable. They should work fine individually, if so, then you can try them together. May be a voltage problem that needs tweaking.

Might take NB up to 1.38

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Ok let's give the NB a bit more juice, as well as DRAM voltage, 1.7V being the "safe max", I'll stay at 1.68V
I add some more Vcore to make the error will not come from the CPU.

        CPU Vcore : 1.3625
        CPU PLL : 1.58
        FSB Term : 1.48
        DRAM Voltage : 1.68
        NB Voltage : 1.41
        SB Voltage : Auto
        Clock Over Charging : Auto

Prime test started @ 08H00 this morning (UTC+1)

Update : 4h of stable Prime 95 blend. So far so good !
          You guys are stars.

Got an error after 7 hours, obvisouly, raising the voltages really helped. But it is not quite enough

Which one shall I raise now ? VDRAM, Vnb or Vcore ? Maybe something else ?

Too high or too low voltage can both cause a problem.

It is difficult to know what is causing problem, so you will need to test each to see what can fully stabilize it.
