F3-1600C9Q-32GSR on eVGA x58 SLI

Hi guys, I am currently using eVGA x58 SLI e758 (the very first x59 eVGA put out) with 3x2GB G.Skill RAM (I can't remember which model).

I am using the board with Core i7 920 C-0 stepping. It is currently running at 3.7Ghz (20 x 185).

I am looking to upgrade the RAM to 3x8GB and was wondering if F3-1600C9Q-32GSR (DDR3-1600 32GB (8GB*4) CL9 Sniper GSkill SR) will work with the board when I only use 3 of the 4 memory sticks.

XMP probably does not work with this board, correct? So, I am assuming that I would need to manually fine tune the timing and all?

Believe that mobo maxed at 24GB and in a 6x4GB config, so unless they had a big BIOS update, it won't take the 8GB sticks
