  • What timings and Speed should I run?

    Hi guys

I got my G.Skill Ares DDR3 1600MHZ CL8 ram yesterday. My question is if I have a Phenom X6 1045T @ 3.1Ghz (running on 4 cores, 2 disabled) what ram timings and speed should I set it at?

That's a good question What set do you have to start off with, two come directly to mind that are Ares 1600 with the 8CL both are the B models, a 2x4GB and a 4x4GB, off hand can't think of any O's that fall into that area, with either you'll prob want to start at 8-8-8-25, 2N. With the 8GB set prob 1.5, and with the 16GB set you'll prob 1.55 on the DRAM voltage. On CPU/NB voltage I'd go 1.2 and with the 16GB set I'd start at 1.26

Install the sticks and have to manually set the base timings to 8-8-8-25, set the CR (Command Rate/Command Timings) to 2N or 2T if it uses the 'T' designator. Set the DRAM voltage to 1.5 and then go and find the CPU/NB voltage and let's go ahead and start at 1.22 instead of 1.2

Very poor manual, Under Memory Configuration/Memory Timings under the OC Tweaker page, it's listed as MA Timing - set to 2T. Might look under the CPU CONFIG area of Tweaker and change Multiplier/Voltage Change to manual, then raisie the Processor voltage to 1.2 and see how that goes

Leave the CPU as is for the moment and try 1600
