  • Ga-970a-ud3 & f3-14900cl9d-8gbsr

Hi and hello! My rig consists of the following components:
    Mobo: GA-970A-UD3
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
    GPU: Nvidia GTX 560 SC
    PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX500
    RAM: F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
I would appreciate some help for my understanding of what I need to do .
As I've read, I'll have to use my RAM at 1600 (which is not a problem at all). However, the problem is the manual settings that I have to do. Thoroughly searching through the forums, I hadn't been able to find any threads that involved an AMD CPU that wasn't FX and the ram was 1866.
And so, I'd appreciate some help with the configurations I'll have to do for my RAM in BIOS so my computer's stable. Thanks ahead of time .

With the Snipers at 1600 you'd use the timings 8-9-8-26 and freq of 1600, and follow the directions in this post (other than using the above timings)

Not saying it's impossible, but it's an extremely low chance you will be able to reach DDR3-1866 on any Phenom II Deneb (C2 or C3), no matter how much tweaking you do.

The sweet spot for that chip is DDR3-1600 with low timings (6-8-6-24 1T). That's something to shoot for, but son't be surprised if you can't do better than DDR3-1600 with 9-9-9-30 2T timings. After all, your CPU only officially supports DDR3-1333.
