  • ASUS P5q-E: DDR2 1200 mhz only run at 800 mhz

    Hi to everybody,

    In my setup:

    - Asus pcq-e (last bios update)
    - Intel Q9560 (12M Cache, 2.83 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)

    with 'auto' bios setting

    my F2-9600CL5D-4GBTD (2Gx4) only run @800mhz.

How can I get them safely running @ 1200 mhz?

I had them running @ 1033 mhz with CPU overclock, but I now decided to not having overclock anymore, so I would like to reach the target performance without CPU overclock.

    Thanks for your advices.

    Best regards,

    Antonio

Have to set them up manually, with base timings, voltage and CR at 2T, will prob also have up the NB voltage about + .04 or so, FSB will need to be at least 1200 (1333 preferably or better)

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

          Hi,

What does it means to 'set voltage and CR at 2T'?

I set basic timings manually and rised NB voltage as suggested. But setting FSB @ 1200 mhz gave me several blue screens (that also caused some issues with win7. But I was able to solve them thanks to the restoration of the OS image).

Is there a way to test if RAM are properly working without loading the OS? What else shoul I have to try to have the RAM working at 1200 mhz?

          Thanks,

          Antonio

Set CPU FSB 1500 and try that instead.

            Thank you
