  • F2-8500CL5D-4GBPQ Not running at rated speeds

ASUS P5QL-Pro and F2-8500CL5D-4GBPQ (2Gx2) Will not run at rated speeds stable.

    Model of the motherboard:
    ASUS P5QL-Pro

    Model of the memory:
    F2-8500CL5D-4GBPQ (2Gx2) 4Gb of RAM total.

    Model of the CPU:
    Intel Q9550

What is the problem? example: no boot, blue screen, reboot... etc.
The computer is stable running the ram at 400(800) however running at the specified timings from here, 5/6/6/18@ 2.2v and it still will not load into windows, it bluescreens.
Not sure what settings to get it to work correctly.

Check and see if you have the latest BIOS 1004, can be found here:

    http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int..._PRO/#download

Then input the base settings 1066 5-6-6-18 2T 2.0 and try. If needed go to 2.1. If no joy, raise the NB voltage + .05. If still problems can you post your BIOS settings

I did it last night. I updated to 1004, 1066 5-6-6-18 2.2v (there is no 2T option but CPUz says it is running 2T). I'll restart and take pictures of the BIOS.

Have you tried the sticks in slots 2-4 instead of 1-3? or run Memtest on each stick to make sure both are good? These should be fine

I ran memtest, with each stick in each slot (10 times total) and got errors each time after a few minutes with those settings, with each stick.

Have you tried raising DRAM voltage, say + . 05 and NB voltage + .1

Yes, I bumped the ram voltage up +.2 to 2.2v bot not the northbridge, the NB on this board is finicky and is not stable if you bump the voltage up.
I'm pretty sure the Motherboard is the issue here =\
No way two sticks could reproduce the same errors independently.

If the NB is at stock basically and finicky about going up at all, sounds flaky, if say 1.1 is stock should be able to jump to 1.35-1.4 safely

Any other memory you can test with?

                      Thank you

Afraid not, this is the only DDR2 device I own.
I'm going to ask ASUS if this sort of thing has happened before.
