Hi everyone,
I just purchased the following memory sticks from NewEgg:
F2-5300CL5D-4GBSA
"G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=20-231-135
My laptop is an ACER EXTENSA 5260-4020 with 2GB RAM. I removed the 2GB RAM (1 GB per slot) and replaced them with the G.SKILL 4GB. I turned on the computer. The BIOS recognized 4GB but did not have any options on how to change RAM settings (such as timing, voltage, etc.).
However, when Windows tried to load, I received a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
I tried other things. Here's what happened:
A. I took out one RAM stick and left one in. The machine boots Windows fine, but this means I only have 2 GB RAM, which is no different than before the upgrade.
B. I swapped the RAM sticks so they went into different slots. Still BSOD.
C. I took one G.SKILL RAM stick out and replaced it with one of the old factory-installed 1 GB RAM disks. Windows works fine, but this means I have just 3 GB.
As noted before, the BIOS doesn't allow me to view or change any of the memory settings. I don't know the motherboard make or model.
When I got to (C) and had Windows running with 3GB RAM, I ran System Information for Windows (SIW) to look at the memory report. The report is long and looks jumbled when I copy and paste, so here are the main details:

Since the specifications for the G.SKILL RAM matches those of the factory-installed RAM, I don't know why Windows won't load when I install both G.SKILL RAM sticks. If I need to contact NewEgg or G.SKILL through another method, please let me know. I've tried called G.SKILL at +866-2-2766-7889 but my phone would not complete the call (I'm calling from the United States).
Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
