  • Help needed setting up G.Skill RAM in BIOS

    Hello,
I just bought a kit of G.Skill DDR2 1066 RAM for my PC.
For now I have 4 gb and later on I'll add 4 more.
My motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 BIOS v10
How should I configure the RAM in my BIOS?
    Your help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Gali.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS, install the sticks and boot to BIOS to check settings, it may well default to 800 vs 1066, if so manually load speed. base timings from package/sticks and DRAM voltage, and check that CR (Command Rate) is at 2T (or 2N if mobo uses the N designator), any problems, get back to us and provide the the actual model # of the sticks, CPU type and what if any OC you are running.

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

      I have the latest BIOS.
I adjusted the settings as you suggested and according to the package but there were many other settings I left at auto or as they were because I didn't know what to input. They may have been not related to the RAM though, I'm not sure.
My CPU is Q9550, I'm not running any OC and the model no. of the RAM is: F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK.

      Thanks for your help,
      Gali.

As long as you configure the DRAM Frequency, timings, and voltage in BIOS, it should be ready to go.
