  • I need to upgrade my ram!

    I have a EVGA 750i motherboard! This is what EVGA recommends ...

    nForce Legacy* Series Motherboards (DDR2, Dual channel)

    * DDR2-1066+*
    o Corsair TWIN2X2048-10000C5DF (For running 1066mhz and beyond)
    o Corsair TWIN2X2048-9136C5DF
    o Corsair TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF
    * DDR2-1066*
    o OCZ OCZ2N10662GK
    o OCZ OCZ2N10661G
    o Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5D
    o Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5
    o Kingston KHX8500D2K2/1G
    o OCZ OCZ2N1066SR2GK
    o OCZ OCZ2N1066SR1G
    o PNY D22GX85GMR

    I would like to know which G.skill ram modules I could buy which can run at 1066mhz, and be compatible with my motherboard, this is the ram I was going to buy:
    G.SKILL F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI-B
    I want 4GB of ram, two 2GB modules! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

      Thank you sir for the quick reply, I greatly appreciate your knowledge, and time you spent replying, and again, thank you very much!

      If you don't mind answering one more silly question for me ... Which would be the better? I plan on getting a water cooling system for my intel q6600 G0 stepping 2.4ghz cpu, I plan on overclocking it back to 3.6ghz with a liquid cooling heatsink! With the EVGA 750i motherboard, your "supposed" to be able to overclock pc8500 ram to 2000mhz and beyond! I doubt I will overclock the ram, however it may be a future project! Which do you think I should purchase, and whats the major differences between these two ram modules?

        With the LC you should be able to run the Q6600 to 3.8-4.0 at least, they'll run 3.6 on air 24/7 with a good heat sink I've got one of the original Q6600s now that's been running 3.6 w/ a Zalman 9500 for a couple of years, also ran one that way w/ a Cooler Master Pro, getting the DRAM to 2000 though I have serious doubts.

        Of the two sets the PI's OC better and run a little cooler, have built numerous boxes with those sticks
