f2-8500cl5d-4gbtd and dfi dk p45t2rs plus

hi,

i've bought f2-8500cl5d-4gbtd and i use e8500 (e0) cpu with dfi dk p45t2rs plus.my OS is win xp64.

all my bios settings (about cpu and ram) default. my cpu 2.99ghz now and ram working as ddr800 and my system stability is bad.i see blue screen.i was using patriot 2x1gb ddr1150mhz ram without problem at cpu-3,3ghz.

so, how can i use this ram as ddr2-1066 and my cpu 3,16ghz at least?

I'd ensure you have the latest BIOS and even then may take some tweaking of the timings for your DRAM, more mobo than DRAM. If you could post your BIOS settings, might be able to help more specifically

thank you for your interest.i don't know who and where should've ask it (dfi or g.skill forum).

-sure, i have the latest bios.
-mobo bios settings for ram, everything default and auto, untouched optimized defaults.because of i don't know where will i begin.
-for cpu, everything default (except thermal management and cpu dual core, others disabled as dfi recommended)

so if you tell me to try for example,
-use 8x
-420mhz
-333/800
-cpu clock skew 0ps
-cpu0 clock skew 100ps
-cpu voltage +1,875v
-ddr voltage +1,813v
-nb voltage 1.32v
etc.

i can do or try them

All you need to do is set the memory in BIOS.

DRAM Frequency DDR2-1066
DRAM Timings tCL 5 - tRCD 5 - tRP 5 - tRAS 15 - Command Rate 2
DRAM Voltage 1.80V

thank you for the info.
if there is a option to select ddr2 1066, it would be painless indeed.
but in real dfi world there is no option like that.so i tried 400/800, 333/667,333/1066,266/800,266/1066, 333/800 and pc did not boot up so i think i should do some changes onto others when change these, for example when i select 266/1066 i should make somethings but i dont know exactly which one i should change.

voltage?only ram voltage or cpu and nb too?or there are also 0,67x-0,65x-0,63x-0,61x things

when i leave ram options all auto they work but if i select 5-5-5-15 i see bsod.


now ram working 845mhz at 1,9V
cpu 3,16ghz
multiplier 9x
bus speed 352mhz
fsb 1408mhz

i guess no one tell me exact settings on both g.skill and dfi forum.but at least some people answered here.

Select 266/1066, set timings to 5-5-5-15, DRAM Voltage 2.10V and you should not have a problem. If you do, test each module one at a time to see if one is defective.

NB Voltage does not need to be that high (1.32V).

hi,

ok i've selected 266/1066 and target ddr clock now 1410mhz.
i lowered cpu clock to 266mhz thus i got 1066mhz at 266/1066 but cpu would be 2394mhz.
also pc did not boot up.

Oh OK, I see, you had CPU Host Frequency 420MHz before..so you should use 400/800

Try those settings again to see if it works.

ok i did 533x6
cpu clock skew1 100ps (did i made a mistake?)
cpu 3198mhz and ram exactly ddr2 1066 at last
ram 400/800 and selected 5-5-5-15 , 2.1V
cpu +187,5
tried nb +1,220v and 1,10v
tried cpu vtt 1,20v and 1,10v

all others default.

pc did not boot up.
i think something not enough for boot up,something voltage maybe??

what or which one is "FSB Termination Voltage"?
nb voltage? (+1,220v did not boot up)
cpu voltage? (+187,5 did not boot up)
or
cpu vtt? (1.20v did not boot up)

OK, sorry, looks like this motherboard does not have that control.

I would suggest lower FSB and higher multipliers.

Since your FSB is limited, you want to find the highest FSB that will be stable, then you simply use the highest multipliers for the highest overclock.

ok i made it at last but i can't use cpu @3.2ghz or faster.

this partially works and passes superpi 16M but not 32M

if someone need settings like me, here it is:
dfi dk p45t2rs plus mainboard + f2-8500cl5d-4gbtd ram
cpu clock:9,5X333mhz= cpu 3163mhz (as standard for e8500 cpu)
cpu clock0 skew 100ps
dram speed:333/1066
all others default

dram enhance data transmitting: normal
all others auto,don't select 5-5-5-15 because it works 5-5-5-15

voltage setting
cpu vid special : +225
dram voltage :2,1V
nb core voltage : 1,2450
cpu vtt : 1,22
all others default


although i never use my old 2x1gb patriot ddr2 1150mhz ram at 1150mhz,it was more flexible than this and i was using my e8500 cpu at 3,2 to 3,5ghz without trouble.
or
i can not set the right options on the bios for this ram.
i do not know really...
