I have just built a new system and installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on it. The system is very unstable. It frequently freezes up on me.
My BIOS has all of the RAM settings and timings set to Auto. The Voltage was set to 1.95. I tried setting it to 1.8 and it got worse. I changed it to 2.1 and it seems better. (Even though my RAM has 1.8-1.9V on the sticker.) I thought if I could decode the RAM timings and get the BIOS set correctly my system might become more stable. The problem is I am not sure how to match up the 4 settings (are they CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS ???) with the settings in my BIOS. My BIOS has like 7 or 8 different settings.
Model of the motherboard: DFI LANPARTY DX X38-T2R
Model of the memory: F2-6400CL6D-4GBMQ : DDRII800, PC2-6400, CL6-6-6-18, 1.8-1.9V
Model of the CPU: Core2 Duo E7500 Wolfdale 2.93 GHz 3MB L2
