  • F2-8500CL5S-1GBPK in a Biostar TF720 A2+

Greetings. Recently, after having upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit, I decided I wanted some more RAM in there to supplement the 2GB (G.SKILL ddr2-8500) already running in there.

The previous two sticks of this RAM I've had has run fine with being set manually to DDR2-1066 in the BIOS with all other settings at AUTO. Sadly, my computer has freaked out with the latest two sticks I've gotten. It will not run at all at 1066. It would be very unstable, if it wouldn't just restart, running games once Windows got up and running,.

I have set it manually to 800 and it has seemed to run fine, even with a modest overclock. Taking some advice from this board, I've set it to 1066 with the manual settings of:

    CAS - 5 CLK
    TRCD - 6CLK
    TRP - 6CLK
    TRAS - 24 CLK
    TRC - 30 CLK
    tRFC0 - 195ns
    tRFC1 - 195ns
    tRFC2 - 195ns
    tRFC3 - 195ns
    DDR voltage set at 2.05

I've even tried a HT over-voltage of +.009 and a chipset over-voltage of +0.100. It will simply fail and reboot regardless.

    Motherboard: Biostar TF720 A2+
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 710

Might try setting the speed to 1033, believe your Mobo will only allow 1 stick in each channel at 1066 or higher

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
