could i be dealing with a defective stick right out of the box ? ...

when i install these memory sticks in the asus m3n78-vm motherboard
as per the motherboard manual in DIMM A-1 and DIMM B-1, the system won't boot and it won't even post. if i leave just one stick in in slot DIMM A-1, the system boots ok. if i install the one stick that i believe to be defective in slot DIMM A-1, again, the system won't post or boot. i've also tried the sticks in different arrangements in different slots but it doesn't work.

i've also updated the bios of the motherboard with the latest bios found on the asus website and reset cmos, but that didn't solve anything.

    opinions? suggestions?

    regards,
    Mark

Sounds like a bad stick, prob want to contact ustech@gskill.com (if in states) or rma@gskill.com, think they normally will RMA the single bad stick so you can keep running, pretty quick turn around
