  • GA-MA790X-UD4P F7Bios 8gb Ripjaws DDR29600

I bought thgis ram to replace OCZ Gold DDR2 6400 and since then my computer wont run stable. Here is my list of installed equipment. Mobo=Ga-MA790X-UD4P F7 bios, CPU= AMD Phenom 2 940 BE ,PSU= Xigmatek 850W model#NRP-MC851, Ram=8Gb Ripjaws F2-9600CL6D-4GBRH( I purchased 2 4gig kits) , Case=Antec 900, Vid Card=XFX 4890 (Model# HD-489A-ZD) One of thie biggest reasons i purchased this mobo was that it supported DDR2 1300 and could overclock to 1333mhz. But in the CMOS it wants to make this Ripjaws ram run @ 800mhz. in default. I manualy changed it to 1066mhz. but there is no option for 1200mhz. which is what i want and i want it to run stable. If it will help also i just picked up a Corsair cpu cooler from the Hydro Series H50 to replace my Zalman 9700. I am also running Vista Ult. 64bit
Any help to fix this would be great.

      Cpu clock in auto @ 3000Mhz / Cpu NB in Auto @ 1800 Mhz / CPU Frequency @ 200 Mhz / HT link in auto @ 1800Mhz / Memory clock in auto @ x400 800Mhz Cl 5T 5T 5T 15T . These are default setting . I earlier pulled 2 sticks to do mem test.

Without your BIOS settings in full this is sort of hard, guessing your command rate is at 1T, should be at 2T....with 8GB you'll want the tRFC around 88 or 195 (if in ns). The timings you show CL5 need to be changed to 6-6-6-18, manually input the speed to 1200, set the DRAM voltage to 2.0, then we'll have to go from there.

I booted up and it did so fine . I also ran CPU-Z and went to memory Drma Freq. 533.3 / FSB Dram 3:8 / CL 6.0 clocks / trcd 6.0 /trp 6.0 /tras 18 /trc 25 / Cr 2T. It seems to be running fine for the moment. Is this what this should look like when running 1200 ?

Pretty much, yes, did you try manually setting the speed to 1200, if not give that a try, if there's a problem, may have to raise the tRFC a tad more to stabilize it.

There is no option beyond x5.33 1066mhz . Not sure why. I have been running bench marks so as to load it. It has't crashed no blue screen mem dumps. What next ?

Is there another way to get the option beyond the x5.33 1066mhz ? It seems like it should just be there .

The memory multiplier is maxed out, you'll have to raise the CPU Host Frequency from 200 to 225 for DDR2-1200. Make sure all other settings and voltages are set correctly as well.

                    Thank you

Cpu host freq @ 225 . It put the Mem Clock to 1199mhz. It won't boot up to Windows. I also backed off the Ht link From 9X 2025 to 8X 1800 mhz tried both ways.

I set the CPU H Freq 225. It put me @ 1199mhz on the MC. It won't go to my OS now. I also tried backing off the HT link from after boosting CHF put it @ 2025 9X to 8X 1800Mhz. I tried both ways. Neither would go to my OS. Here are my timmings. Cpu Freq. 225 - MC 1199Mhz - Ganged and also tried Unganged - CL 6T 6T 6T 18T 2T 7T 195ns 195ns 195ns 195ns 6T 3T 25T 5T

Is this the only way to get Tech support ? @ this rate it will take days to resolve this . It seems as if it would be faster to use a hand writen note and a man on horseback to deliver mesages. I am not trying to be a **** . I am excited to reap the rewards of my investment . Now i am out of time untill i get off work tonight @ 11:30pm . Allthough i am very greatful to those who have helped me thus far . It just feels like i am so close.

Nope, you can give me a call at (909) 598-6860.

But here are the optimum timings, hopefully they work because I don't think this motherboard will be able to handle 8GB at DDR2-1200. Most people have issues with DDR2-1066.

                              6T 6T 6T 18T 2T 7T 195ns 195ns 195ns 195ns 8T (or 10T) 3T 42T 5T

Let me know how that goes. Also, I prefer the hand written note delivered by a horseback rider. =P

                              Thank you
