I can't get the above listed RAM to run at 1067 on my motherboard.

    Prime 95 runs over night no problem @ 5-5-5-15-(tRC 24) 2T.

the EEP settings of 5-5-5-15-(tRC 48) 2T are not within the range allowed by my motherboards BIOS.

If i switch to 1067MHz in the BIOS, I can get the tRC as high as 41 only.

If i loosen the timing to 5-7-7-20 (tRC 41) I can load up windows, run 3DMark06 but Prime 95 fails within 5 minutes and memtest 3.4 will error on test 5 every run.

I bought this RAM at my local NCIX store on the suggestion of the store and after reading on both ASUS and G-Skill web sites that this set is compatable. I believe it was a mistake made by all parties in that the 2GB sticks need the tRC setting of 48 and ASUS has missed this.

I run XPpro service pack 3, BIOS 1705, and I can't see a solution to this short of either a new BIOS from ASUS (not going to happen) or ... <ideas>

The tRC 48 setting is simply the max standard for DDR2-1066 according to JEDEC. The G.Skill F2-8500CL5-2GBPK will typically operate within the 24-33 range for tRC.

    Try these settings:

    AI Overclocking - Manual
    DDR Voltage - 2.1V
    Northbridge Voltage - Manual
    HyperTransport Voltage - 1.4V
    Core/PCIE Voltage - 1.2V

    Memory Configuration (submenu)
    Unganged Mode Support - Enabled
    Power Down Enable - Disabled

    DRAM Timing Configuration (submenu)
    Memory Clock Mode - Manual
    Memclock Value - 533MHz
    2T Mode - Enabled
    DRAM Timing Mode - Both
    CAS Latency - 5
    tRCD - 5
    tRP - 5
    tRAS - 15
    tWR - 8

Leave these on AUTO unless you still have issues..
    tRFC0 - 127.5
    tRFC1 - 127.5
    tRFC2 - 127.5
    tRFC3 - 127.5
    tRC - 24
    tRRD - 4
    tWTR - 4
    tRTP - 4

Save and exit, your computer should be running smoothly.

Mr. Gskill Tech, you are a timing wizzard!
Your suggested timings above run no errors on memtest 86 3.4 test 5 looped for 15 minutes.
Prime 95 now crashes 3 of 4 threads within the first minute.

I suggest the extra heat being generated, by the in-the-chip ddr2 controller is tripping protection.
      I have mild OC of 3.6GHz from 200 x 18 with 1.425v which will run memtest 86 3.4, test 5, over night without problem, Prime 95 6 hours but at 800MHz 5-5-5-15-24-2T 2.1v.

Does that make sense to you? I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro64 which i lapped and installed carefully, but it is only rated for 120 W and these 955's are 140w @ stock.

Regardless, thank you for your assist with the RAM timings, I have progressed on to the neck bottleneck in my quest for 4.0GHz!

So at 533 (DDR2-1066), test 5 loops and Prime 95 still crashes?

Did you try changing the "AUTO" timings? If so, try these:

        tRFC0 - 195
        tRFC1 - 127.5
        tRFC2 - 127.5
        tRFC3 - 127.5
        tRC - 30
        tRRD - 4
        tWTR - 4
        tRTP - 4

Let me know how that goes. Sounds like something is slightly too tight.

Those settings allowed Prime 95 to run for two minutes, then three of four cores dropped.

I checked the cpu core temp at failure and it was still low, 48 degrees low.

Might kick up the CPU voltage a tad

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Try testing each stick individually. You may have a bad stick causing you the issues. Keep us posted on the results.
