  • GA-MA78GM-S2H rev 1.1 not running 1066 mhz

    hi i just bought 2 pairs (8GB) of Trident 1066mhz 1.8volts

    F2-8500CL5D-4GBTD CL5-5-5-15

its doesnt run 1066 when i had everthing deafult.

when i set the ram into 533x2mhz in bios. it will not let me go to the OS it keeps on getting balck screen (no voltage increment!)

im using a X2 7850 at stock speeds.

    right now its stable a ddr2-800 mode @ 5 5 5 15 timings 1.8 volts

    thanks,

    Fern

    Try these settings:

    In MIT,

    DRAM Configuration (submenu)
    DDRII Timing - Manual
    CAS Latency - 5T
    RAS to CAS R/W Delay - 5T
    Row Precharge Time - 5T
Minimum RAS Active Time - 15T
    1T/2T Command Timing - 2T
    TwTr Command Delay - 3T
    Trfc0 for DIMM1 - 127.5ns
    Trfc2 for DIMM2 - 75ns
    Trfc1 for DIMM3 - 75ns
    Trfc3 for DIMM4 - 75ns
    Write Recovery Time - 6T
    Precharge Time - 4T
RAS to RAS Delay - 5T

    Set Memory Clock - Manual
    Memory Clock - 1066
    DDR2 Voltage Control - +0.2V
    Northbridge Voltage Control - +0.1V

Save and exit and your computer should be running smoothly. Let me know if that works.

    Thank you

        i tried but no luck

        i noticed that my

TwTr Command Delay - is only upto 4T only

        Precharge Time - 3T only

after seting it up as what you have said and including the limitations i mentioned above

the post will revert back to ddr2 800 and will load windows sucessfully.

        Thanks,

        Fern

Are you running the F8 BIOS? Might raise the tRFC one level higher than what GSkill suggested and/or try relaxing the timings to 6-6-6-18.

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

            Trfc2 for DIMM2 - 75ns
            Trfc1 for DIMM3 - 75ns
            Trfc3 for DIMM4 - 75ns

I wanted to see if they would run at tight settings, but I guess not. Try these, they should work.

Trfc0 for DIMM1 - 195ns (whichever is above 127.5ns, not sure if you have one in between)
              Trfc2 for DIMM2 - 127.5ns
Trfc1 for DIMM3 - 195ns (same as the first one)
              Trfc3 for DIMM4 - 127.5ns

              Thank you

                still did not work.

                btw.

im going to try these all of these rams in my friends rig

                its a gigabyte UD3L with a E5300 proc.

will it work without any adjustments?

                  1T/2T Command Timing - 2T
                  TwTr Command Delay - 4T
                  Trfc0 for DIMM1 - 195ns
                  Trfc2 for DIMM2 - 75ns
                  Trfc1 for DIMM3 - 127.5ns
                  Trfc3 for DIMM4 - 75ns
                  Write Recovery Time - 8T
                  Precharge Time - 3T
RAS to RAS Delay - 5T

Simply depends on what the board picks up for AUTO values, sometimes they are good, sometime they aren't so you have to adjust manually. It's always better manually anyway that way there are no variables.

                    its still doesnt not work.

i was able to run it at 5 7 7 something @ 4 gigs but when i adjusted
it to 5 5 5 15 it becomes unstable at desktop.

What type of instability are you having? I need to know specific problems so I can figure out the reason why it is doing that. Try setting Write Recovery Time - 10T and see if that will help.

                      Thank you

Is there any way you can post screen shots? That way I can see exactly if you have anything set incorrectly. When did you purchase the memory? You may simply want to get a new set, since you should not be having these issues with these settings. For tRFC, set them at

                          Trfc0 for DIMM1 - 195ns
                          Trfc2 for DIMM2 - 127.5ns
                          Trfc1 for DIMM3 - 127.5ns
                          Trfc3 for DIMM4 - 127.5ns

What is your memory voltage? Set it at 2.0V and 2.1V and see if that will help.
