  • Voltages for OC Question

I have 16 gigs of G-Skill Trident X F3-2400C10D-16GTX in my Asus Sabertooth Z77 board with xmp enabled, it is teamed up with a I5 3570k processor oc to 4.5.My question is when tightening the secondary settings is it best to raise the initial dram volts a little or is the vccsa volts the one to tweak to make the settings stable.

If you already found the best VCCSA Voltage, then it should not need to be adjusted. Increase DRAM Voltage can help stabilize tighter timings.

    Thank you

Trident X 2400 CL10 is rated for 1.65 volts. How high is it safe to set the volts, in case I want to try a higher freq oc.

Try DDR3-2400 10-11-12-(21/28), 10-10-12-(21/28), 10-11-11-(21/28) and 10-10-11-(21/28). Usually 1.65V are more than enough for this. The secondaries need only very minimal Vdimm adjustments, but adding a little bit of voltage can't hurt either (e.g. up to 1.68V).

You will regardless of voltage probably not be able to hit DDR3-2600 24/7 stable.
