GSkill Part Numbers

I remember seeing somewhere where there was an explanation for each character used in GSkill memory part numbers.......anyone know where I can find it again?? ie F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ...there was a notation either above or below each character explaining its meaning. I know most of the meanings, yet I wanted to copy it for my customers to read. Thanks!

Dumaine, et al, using your example F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ


F2 = indicates DDR2 or F3 = DDR3 or F1 = DDR

- = Separator

6400 = RAM Speed

CL5 = CAS Latency # (i.e. 5 or 6 or...)

D = Dual (2 sticks) other variables can be S= Single stick or Q for Quad sticks (4)

- = Separator

4GB = Total package size

PQ = Model # of stick(s)

thanks as usual Tman.....I just thought there was different terminology for the PQ, PK etc.... inwhich it classified it better as for Gamers, Overclockers, etc etc

On that, I don't know, near as I can 'guess', it's just a model designation, i.e. the Ripjaws are RL, the ECOs are ECO, the PIs are PIs (with a B for the Black PIs, with a T for Turbulence), PS for Perfect Storm, GT1 for GT1, etc

Originally there was a piece of writing that stated the different models. PK "King" PQ "Queen" HZ "Zeus" etc. etc. but I have not seen that in forever so it's lost, but should be somewhere...

Does the LOW, MIDDLE, HIGH refer to some performance characteristic or something else?

Of course, if you notice RL's mainly have CAS Latency 9. They are for people that want to plug and play with minimal settings. RM's generally have slightly lower latencies, but require slightly more voltage. Perfect for AMD users or people looking for a little performance. RH's have the highest frequency or tightest timings. These are for gamers/overclockers looking for optimum performance.
