Compatibility Question

My current motherboard was hit by a power surge knocking out my NIC and PCI slots. I need a cheap replacement. I am on a very tight budget and really cannot afford to purchase new memory as well. So Im looking for a new motherboard that can use my current memory.

My current memory is G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL and I wanted to know if it would work with the ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 AM3+ motherboard.

I looked on both the MB and G.skill approved lists and G.skill doesn't have the MB listed and the memory is not shown on the MB approved list but we know that they do not list all memory that will work.

Yes the sticks will be fine with the mobo...it is rated to take up to 2100+ DRAM...you don't mention what CPU, but generally speaking a 965 C3 or better can run 1600 at it's full spec
