  • A few questions - general and for macbook pro

    Hi everyone,
I just got a new phoenix pro ssd and have some questions regarding using it with my mid 2009 macbook pro.

    1. anyone have macbook pro benchmarks? Can you post so we can compare?

tat's with vmware fusion(virtualization windows) booting up.
I can't get ahci enable on my macbook pro because it has nvidia chipset not the intel that people can edit master boot record for. Please tell me if there's any solution.
    using xbench in osx:
    Results 264.76
    System Info
    Xbench Version 1.3
    System Version 10.6.6 (10J567)
    Physical RAM 8192 MB
    Model MacBookPro5,1
    Drive Type FM-25S2S-120GBP2
    Disk Test 264.76
    Sequential 156.89
    Uncached Write 214.81 131.89 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Write 219.46 124.17 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Uncached Read 74.21 21.72 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Read 355.99 178.92 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Random 847.52
    Uncached Write 1280.97 135.60 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Write 414.51 132.70 MB/sec [256K blocks]
    Uncached Read 2322.98 16.46 MB/sec [4K blocks]
    Uncached Read 912.39 169.30 MB/sec [256K blocks]

The speed seems rather slow even under osx.

2.The advertised 285/270 read write is tested with what benchmark program?

3.I've seen on this forum in the benchmark thread that someone had a mid 2009 macbook pro 13" with a falcon ssd (See here) yet have a higher results than me, is this drive defective then?

is there anything else I can do to make this ssd faster? I didn't pay full price on a ssd just so it work slower than the ones that are half its price. I wish to become a happy buyer, please help me.

280/270 is ATTO, sand force doesn't care others bench mark.
your score was quite low, please use " Magic Parted" to secure erase it.
    it would be helpful.

    thanks
