Hi everyone,
first of all sorry to open another thread about benchmarks... but I need some feedback about my GSkill Phoenix Pro 120Gb. :P
System Specs:
Laptop: Asus N61JQ-JX041V, I removed my Optical Drive to install a second HDD.
HDD1: GSkill Phoenix Pro 120Gb
HDD2: Western Digital Scorpio Blue 640Gb
SO: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 with some optimizations: SSD Tweaker and from this forum:
Change Windows registy to improve your SSD performance
SSD Tweaks Ver 1.2
BIOS: v212 (latest) in AHCI mode
Intel Rapid Storage Technology: V9.6.0.1014 installed
Intel Chipset Software: V9.2.0.1015 installed
No Anti-Virus installed!
History:
- Bought on 15-11-2010
- Installed on Laptop, immediately upgraded the firmware to v3.1
- Secure Erase using Parted Magic (had some problems with being "frozen", but i managed to unfrozen it)
- Aligned with Diskpart:
- "Create partition primary align = 1024"
- Formated NTFS - 4k
Benchmarks made after the steps mentioned above:
ATTO Benchmark
Left Pic its from the review made on GSKill Phoenix Pro 120Gb on http://www.tweaktown.com
Based on the results i decided to leave Intel Rapid Storage out of my System.
Crystal Disk Mark x64:
After this i decided restore my Windows 7 to the SSD, using Acronis maintaining the alignment! I followed this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUu9InlfD_c
Benchmarks after the restore:
AS SSD Benchmark & ATTO
Not Happy with the results i decided to try the Diskeeper 2010 with HyperFast and AS-Cleaner, in order to optimize the SSD.
Here are the results:
ATTO:
Crystal Disk Mark:
HD Tune:
So my question is...
Are these results normal in a new SSD? If not, what can i do? RMA?
Best Regards to all
