RAID 1 question

Hey guys, I'm adding a 2nd HDD to my rig and want to run RAID 1config. Do I need to format and do a clean install?
Running Windows 7 Pro, 2X1tb WD black HDD's, AMD X4 965 processor,and Gigabyte GA-MA 790 XT UD4P motherboard, 8gb's DDR3 1600 RAM. Thanks in advance.
