  • Urgent G.SKILL FM-25S2S-120GBP2 on way my controller is SATA I

    I just bought
    G.SKILL FM-25S2S-120GBP2

and found out that my Tecra M11-S3440 Laptop is SATA I controller
will this drive work in my system.?

Does it have jumpers or is there a bios update or software to make it compatible or will it just do that naturally.

In 99.99% of the time SATA II is usually backwards compatible, I had a Falcon Gen 1 SATA II running on a SATA I controller just fine and had just as fast speeds as SATA II. Only real difference between the two is the bandwidth and a single drive will not put you in danger of exceeding it.
