Can having installed a traditional HD as a storage drive have a negative performance impact on the Falcon drive where the OS and primary data is stored?

No, in fact, this is exactly how you should utilize your SSD. SSD's should always be used for OS and software/program data, and the platter drives should be used as storage (videos, music, documents, etc.).
There is no negative performance impact; in fact, it should be a positive.

When using a laptop?
I will give it a try. I have a Falcon drive in my laptop. Would you recommend to have data storage, documents, music and pictures on a SD card, and the OS and programmes on the SSD drive?Comment

SD cards are usually small in capacity. I would suggest an external USB hard drive, docking station, or something of that sort to store all your information. This also makes it portable, so you can move it from computer to computer. This allows your OS and programs to be fast all the time, and reducing the possibility of SSD corruption.
