Try HD Tune or CrystalDisk, they should give you the info.

Can also check device manager

If you are using Windows XP/Vista/7 you can also find the firmware version by using the Device Manger.

It will vary a little depending on your OS and how you have the menus set up, but the general pathway is: Control Panel>>System>>Device Manager>>Select your Drive under "Disk Drives">>right click it and select "properties">>select "details" tab>> select hardware ID from drop down menu. It should be listed in there.
