  • Falcon II + Windows XP?

I'm planning to get Falcon II 128GB and fit Windows XP in it.

I understand that Falcon II has native TRIM, does that mean I do not have to worry about garbage collection? I know that Windows 7 has TRIM feature and XP doesn't.

In summary, is it ok to install Windows XP on Falcon II?

    Many thanks!

Please do not tell me to get Windows 7 if you cannot answer my question.

To be honest with you I would step up my game with Win-7, but if you on a budget then I can understand. Far as Garbage Collection goes I am not a 100% read up on it yet, but from what I understand its hardware based not Operating System controlled. But back to you original question yes, you can run the trim utility and be just fine.

Falcon II does have native TRIM support, but you will need to run the wiper program or allow Win 7 to TRIM it for you. So yes it is OK to install Win XP, but you will need to manually TRIM it.

Garbage Collection is included in the new firmware.

        Thank you

with xp proper alignment is important you'll have to use diskpart but i would just go 7 much easier and trim.
