1st generation GSkill 64GB SSD slow...

I installed this drive in my dad's laptop a few years ago. The drive has become so slow that the laptop is nearly unusable. I ran ATTO and the speed for the first four rows was as follows:

948 979
1089 1021
1137 1076
1187 1090

I've backed up the drive (took forever) and I have tried to run Parted Magic against it to erase it. I got the message that the "routine can only run for disks supporting the Security Mode feature set". The BIOS on his laptop does not have IDE or AHCI setting, so I was unable to try that. I can install it into a different PC if that will allow me to erase it.

Does anyone know if these 1st generation GSkill drives can be erased to restore the performance?

yes, you can use other PC to secure erase the Drive, and that's the only way to improve the performance.
