In general that information is not part of the specification, unless it is part of the press release (which is rare). Some specifications can be built from many different types of ICs, others require a specific one, at least initially. So if another IC type turns up, that could be used to produce a certain specification, it would then be subject to change. In the end it all comes down to the individual scaling characteristics and availability.
Data from other users and reviews can help determine the usual / most common IC type, but it won't always be reliable, esp. for extended periods of time.
The G.SKILL QVL is valid for all pieces of a specific SKU, regardless of IC type.
The motherboard QVL is just a snapshot from a tiny sample size, often a single module or kit. So the DRAM information there is valid for the tested sample(s).
