  • JEDEC profiles and Downclocking for Ripjaws DDR4 SO-DIMM Kit (F4-3200C22D-16GRS)

    Dear G.Skill forum,

    I am interested in purchasing Ripjaws DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 CL22-22-22 1.20V 16GB (2x8GB) kit (F4-3200C22D-16GRS).

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 7 A715-72G-74H with an Intel i7-8750H CPU and Intel HM370 chipset. It cannot handle XMP profiles, and I cannot change the RAM frequency or CL timings in BIOS. The maximum frequency my system supports is 2666MHz with CL19 but can also use 2400MHz with CL17.

Has anybody used this modules or similar ram that you had to downclock to 2666MHz. I am not sure if I could return the RAM if I open the cases and try out if it works properly.
Can I confirm or find somewhere if the modules have JEDEC profiles for 2666MHz or 2400MHz and if they will be stable at these lower speeds?

    Thank you all!

    Best regards

They should have profiles for all ratios up to DDR4-3200, including 2400T and 2666V, due to the way the SPD of standard modules like that** are programmed. Your system then selects the appropriate ratio according to CPU spec. However I get the feeling that you are looking for confirmation from someone else, like GSKILL TECH.
