  • A lot of errors in MemTest 86

    Hello all,

I recently had a memory management BSOD, so, I tested the memory with built in memory checked and after, memtest86.

    Here are the results :

    Computer specs :
    CPU : Ryzen 5 5600x
MB : AsRock B550 PG Riptide
    RAM : 2 x G.SKILL Ripjaws V, (2x16GB) DDR4, 3600MHz CL16
    Video : RTX 3070Ti Ventus 3x
    PSU : Seasonic 650W
    Storage : 1 x Samsung 980 PRO Gen.4, 500GB, NVMe, M.2. / 1 x AData 500GB NVME, 1 x AData SSD 500GB
Case : Fractal Design Meshify C (plenty of coolers)

RAM is working @ 3600 (XMP enabled)

    Any advices? Thanks

If you suspect a memory issue, test both modules individually. If the issue exists with just one of the two sticks, a RMA might be needed.

If MemTest86 reports errors with both modules, it might be more of a general hardware or configuration issue, since it is fairly rare that both modules fail at the same time. Your motherboard is probably just not compatible with the XMP, since no ASRock B550 models are listed in it's QVL*. So in addition to enabling the XMP, you probably have to reduce the memory frequency step by step until the system is fully stable.
