  • MSI - Z590 A Pro Mother board and G.Skill 4800 ram

    Will this Kit :

    G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4800 (PC4-38400) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-4800C19D-16GTZRC

    work in my MSI Z590 A Pro mother board,
    using an Intel I7 10700KF CPU ?

    Currently using G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4000 (PC4 32000) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-4000C18Q-32GTZRB with said mobo and cpu , no issues just interested in this faster kit.

    I would assume the +800 Mhz would improve the overall performance , but would the added latency from 18Q to 19D negate it ?
    The pc is just for gaming /email web browsing and no data comp.

    Should be no problem with latest BIOS:

    Maximum DRAM Frequency will depend on CPU quality. If XMP alone is unstable, you can manually set to a lower DRAM Frequency to see what can boot and work properly. From this point you can check CPU IMC Voltage then manually increase it to see if you can stabilize a higher DRAM Frequency.

    There is the processor uncertainty above and it doesn't sound like your needs does not specifically demand it so your existing kit with some OC may be the best course of action when comparing the two options mentioned.
