  • Single RAM stick preventing boot

    Hi folks,

I think I already know the answer but still hoping.

I purchased in January a 64gb DDR4 kit (F4-3600C16Q-64GTZN) from Newegg. I just finally managed to complete my build this weekend (since September 2020) and unfortunately, I discovered that a single RAM stick is not working.

I have an ASUS Crosshair Dark Hero x570 paired with Ryzen 5900x, tried to put the stick in every slot, no dice.

Error code is C5, followed by 0d and it just stays there. The RAM RGB lights up.

    I've tried the following:
    • clear CMOS
    • safe boot on MB
    • multiple resets
    • multiple different slots
    • tried all the above with all the RAM sticks

I don't think I'm missing anything but any idea?

It looks the RMA process doesn't cover shipping either so I'm really disappointed.

If one module performs differently, that confirms an issue with that one module so you will need to send them in for RMA and a replacement should work better.

NewEgg is responsible for sending you a good working product within 30 days of purchase. Beyond that, RMA to G.Skill requires the user to pay for shipping to G.Skill and G.Skill will cover shipping back to the user.
