  • Not f4-3600c14d-16gtznb ?

    Hello,
I have an Asus B550-F Gaming (Wifi), with an AMD Ryzen 3600 cpu.

I have been building PCs since 1997 and never had this happen, ever. I purchased G.SkillTrident Z Neo F4-3600C14D-16GTZNB from Newegg for $174. When I received it, I Let my motherboard detect the XMP (Asus calls it D.O.C.P.), and it only detected it as 3200Mhz CL 14,14, 14, 34 Ram.
So I opened Thaiphoon Burner and it detected the RAM as F4-3200C14-8GTRG (Capacity as 8gb for each stick). It also said it was Trident Z Royal Gold and a CL 14,14,14, 34, 48 at 1.35v.
It is also detected as F4-3200C14-8GTRG with HWInfo.

The Ram works perfectly, but isn't what I ordered. I wanted the faster ram as Ryzen loves fast ram with tight timings. Should I just RMA with Newegg, or what should I do?

Does it say F4-3600C14D-16GTZNB on the module and the packaging or F4-3200C14D-16GTRG?

If it states F4-3600C14D-16GTZNB everywhere and only the SPD is wrong, you might have gotten b-stock where someone swapped the modules under the HS. Then contact Newegg about it and get the kit replaced for what you actually ordered.

It says F4-3600C14D-16GTZNB on the packaging, and on the module (the holographic sticker with the serial numbers on it) I am supplying a screenshot of the actual modules.

I've already been told by Tech support to return it, so that is what I will do.

Apparently with G.Skill buying there modules is like buying a snowflake. Even if you get the exact same makes and models they all still perform different. Which doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

I have ended up getting F4-3600C15D-16GTZ. I gave up the CL14, and went with CL15. Which is ok, because it was $50 cheaper, works flawlessly, and is on my QVL list. Also, NO LEDs! Which is a good thing.
