Can you add on another 16gb from another pack of the same make/ model of memory

Please can someone help me I currently have 16GB of Ram F4-4000C17D-16GTRS and am wanting to upgrade to 32 GB Can I simply buy another pack of F4-4000C17D-16GTRS and add them to my existing Ram ? I also want to be able to use XMP 2.0.

The motherboard the 16GB are currently in is a asus z390 maximus Formula
I will also be using them in the z490 version of this board as well.

I did check the QVL List but can not see any information on this.

XMP is for each kit of memory. You can use it, but most likely will need to make some adjustments to see what the hardware can support.

Mixing kits, even of the same type, can be hit and miss in general. The memory FAQ also doesn't recommend it ( https://www.gskill.com/faq/1502180912/DRAM%20Memory ).

However I would expect two kits of F4-4000C17D-16GTRS to work together just fine in most cases, if the motherboard can handle it / was tested compatible with the corresponding quad kit F4-4000C17Q-32GTRS.
